General comments
- The language page has a lot of material on it and can be a bit overwhelming. I have highlighted a few of those items that my classmates and I in NML240 & NML340 found to be of most value with red stars. ★★★
- Some of the more complicated interactive pages have a dedicated help page.
Look for a link near the top of the page:
- Online Faulkner CDME Dictionary
- Hoch Uniliterals and Biliterals by Chapter
- Big Hieroglyphs: Learning to Draw
- Rapid Entry of Hieroglyphs for RES
- Spaced repetition for the 3 Flashcard pages(links near bottom)
What's New
- 2026-01-18: I have added a pharaoh name search function to the Timelines page (in the History section). You can begin typing in the common name or any of the five names and it will shrink down the list as you go. Once you find the pharaoh of interest, just click on their name and you will be taken to their entry on the Timeline page.
- 2026-01-08: I am taking NMC344H1(History of Ancient Egypt II) this semester, and I have pulled much of
the pharonic name information
from the timeline section of my website and packaged it into a workbook/notebook with one page for each
pharaoh.
Most of each page has been left blank
for your notes. The notebook also contains a listing of pharaohs with dates (from Shaw) for each period,
and a copy
of the three
maps from the Egyptian Places section of the website.
You can download the pdf from the "History of Egypt" page (green button on the Main Menu).
